Blundells put best foot forward for charity
A team of seven employees from Blundells took to the city's streets to complete the Sheffield Half Mararthon in aid of a local charity.
‘Team Blundells' are set to raise £2,000 for The Children's Hospital Charity making every single one of those 13.1 miles worth it!
Peter Lee, Director of Blundells, was the first team member to make it across the finishing line in a very respectable time of 1 hour 39 mins. Other team members included Lucy Crapper, Matthew Blundell, Michael Parry, Annette Clarke, Josh Gascoyne and Matt Lacey.
Peter said: “I had been training for a couple of months and was really pleased with the time I achieved. I didn't particularly enjoy myself out on the course and the last few miles were incredibly hard, however the support we all received on the way round and thinking about the charity we were fundraising for made me determined to keep on running.
“We are absolutely blessed and privileged to have the incredible Children's Hospital, Sheffield on our doorstep. For anyone who has ever had to enter the hospitals doors you will know just how amazing the place and the staff are and they need our help to ensure this wonderful work continues for generations to come.
“The seven of us can cope with a few blisters, sore joints and aching limbs in order to help support this wonderful charity.
“We would like to thank everyone who has sponsored us and who cheered us on round the course. Everyone who supported us really did help us make it over the finishing line!”
